Devine Barn |
| |
The Devine Barn is designated as a historical property on the Montgomery County register. The original barn was built in 1885 and is located in Potomac, Maryland. Hubert Construction took approximately 1/3 of the overall space and built an interior conditioned envelope creating a 2-story open gallery, 2 offices, 2 viewing rooms and the lowest level acting as a mechanical room. The new space allows the owner to maintain and store works of art for both viewing and purchasing. |

Project Highlights |
| |
| The character of the old barn was maintained on the inside by using steel angles as a means of support, “floating walls” were built to enhance the original structure by standing free of them, leaving all the original timbers visible. The second level of the space has a catwalk style floor that allows one to look down into the 1st floor with office space on either side of the walkway. From the first floor center area, looking up, the gallery walls ascend to a 23-foot high atrium ceiling.
