Hubert Construction Hosts Unique National Peer Group Review

Gaithersburg, Maryland, February 6, 2006…Hubert Construction of Gaithersburg, MD recently hosted a peer group review with general contractors from across the nation. The peer group concept was formulated under the guidelines of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC). ABC developed the peer group concept to allow companies with similar sizes and target markets from different parts of the country to share information and ideas.

“We became interested in the peer group process because it allows us to learn about challenges faced by similar companies in different parts of the country,” said JJ McCarthy, President of Hubert Construction. Peer groups consist of three to four none-competing companies that agree to meet twice a year at one of the members’ home offices.

Hubert facilitated a two-day presentation of its business model, procedures, progress, problems, and people, including discussions of proprietary information and profits. Hubert also showed the group some of its completed projects and took the members on a tour of Washington, D.C. attractions. The session concluded with a detailed critique of Hubert’s business plans and practices. Based on this critique, Hubert has made some revisions to its business plan.

Hubert’s peer group consisted of Rushforth Construction of Washington state, Summit Construction of Indiana, and Atlanta-based Pinkerton & Laws.

Founded in 1998, Hubert Construction, LLC offers a full range of construction services including commercial office buildings, tilt–up, retail, small commercial, recreation facilities, interiors, and site infrastructure. Hubert Construction had 2005 revenue of $66 million and is projecting revenue of $75 million for 2006.
