As the Vice President Pre-Construction, Mr. Staus is responsible for all functions of Pre-Construction Services including design management oversight, conceptual, budget and final estimates, constructability analysis, value engineering, and overall project schedule. Mr. Staus assumes overall responsibility for completion of coordinated building design on design build projects, estimating of projects at milestone stages, assure adherence to project design schedule, value engineering, and presentation of such items to clients. |

History: |
Mr. Staus began his 35 year career in the construction industry starting as a draftsman and later project coordinator for an architectural firm. Aspiring to be more hands he worked for general contractors in construction management and estimating on a broad range of site work, tenant build-out and building construction projects from $50,000 to $30,000,000.
From his experiences in construction and architecture, Mr. Staus has proven skills in conceptual, design build and hard bid estimating. He brings to Hubert Construction proven department organizational, management and communication skills, to oversee the estimating teams design document review, cost analysis, value engineering, preliminary construction planning and scheduling.
Using demonstrated knowledge in the analysis of actual construction costs verses the original estimate, Mr. Staus will maintain and upgrade Hubert’s database of past job cost results. He most recently has been involved with pre-construction services through interaction with the customer design teams on document review and cost analysis. His organizational, computer and software skill sets, will provide each client accurate and concise estimate documentation of a project from conceptual through construction documents. |
